We believe we are now at a point where we must take action against the climate challenges disrupting our ecosystem and our lives. More than ever, we must try to limit global warming to less than 2 degrees, or more optimistically 1.5 degree, as targeted in the Paris Agreement.
Every financial asset, stock market index and investment portfolio, through the business activities of companies it invests in, has an impact on global warming. As such, we believe asset managers will play a crucial role in helping achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement, by redirecting savings and investment to help the transition to a low carbon economy. Temperature metrics will become increasingly important in portfolio allocations. This transition will take time and Lyxor, as an asset manager committed to climate, will continue to innovate in order to support this collective effort.
Florent Deixonne, Head of SRI explains why this move was necessary, and how the transparency of this metric helps investors make the most informed decisions.
